Kerstin Jeckel wurde 1960 in Wiesbaden geboren. Jeckel studierte von 1983 - 1989 Freien Malerei und Kunsttheorie an der HBfK Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main bei den Professoren Johannes Schreiter und Raimer Jochims. Seit 1985 ist sie als freischaffende Künstlerin in Wiesbaden tätig. Seitdem konnte sie auch mehrfach künstlerische Konzepte für Unternehmen erarbeiten und für Non-Profit-Organisationen Ausstellungskonzepte entwickeln. Die Künstlerin engagiert sich mit ihren Arbeiten und Projekten auch für gesellschaftliche Initiativen, seit 1995 ist sie etwa im Netzwerk für Toleranz aktiv. Jeckels Arbeiten befinden sich unter anderem im Besitz der Kunstsammlungen des Landes Hessen, der Kunstsammlung der Stadt Wiesbaden, der Industrie- und Handelskammer Wiesbaden, der Eckelmann AG in Wiesbaden, der Stiftung Ernsting in Coesfeld, der UBS in Basel sowie in zahlreichen privaten Sammlungen im In- und Ausland. Die Künstlerin lebt und arbeitet in Wiesbaden. |

Features and remarks
The strong acrylic colours are directly applied to the raw canvas by Kerstin Jeckel. The clear shapes and colours contrast wonderfully with the archaic materiality of the painting ground . Bright colours and abstract botany take the viewer into a world full of wonder and positive, childlike energy.
The accent is particularly on the colour effect, so that only hints of elements and sections of physical nature are referred to. Here, Jeckel paints only individual notes of a melody - the rest develops as we see.
