Features and remarks
You are bidding on an original graphic by the well-known Zero artist Heinz Mack from 2013.
Outstanding provenance - From the personal collection of Mack's ‘master printer’ Hans-Peter Haas!
„In 1990, the ZERO artist Heinz Mack decided for the first time to use screen printing to reproduce the hand drawings he calls ‘colour chromatics’, which he has been creating since 1960. In Hans-Peter Hass, the artist found a printer who was able to reproduce his ideas in the best possible way.“
MACK - Druckgraphhik und Multiples. 1991-2000
In his personal dedication to the printer, Mack describes the book, which contains a total of 20 screen prints based on pastels and ink drawings accompanying quotations from the 11th-century scholar and mystic Al Ghazali, as his ‘opus magnum’.In addition to the text quotations from the books ‘The Elixir of Bliss’ and ‘The Niche of Lights’ printed in gold, there are elaborate prints with up to 40 colours on heavy Somerset handmade paper.
The book, limited to 70 + X copies, was produced by bookbinder Stephan Ortbauer in Vienna. The double sheets are bound into individual booklets using decorative long-stitch binding and attached to the handmade paper of the cover. A gold-embossed cover logo and spine title in gold and black complete the beautiful cover. The book is safely stored in a cardboard and wood slipcase.
This special, bibliophile work by the Zero artist.
