Features and remarks
You are bidding on an original graphic by the well-known Zero artist Heinz Mack from 2013.
Outstanding provenance - From the personal collection of Mack's ‘master printer’ Hans-Peter Haas!
„In 1990, the ZERO artist Heinz Mack decided for the first time to use screen printing to reproduce the hand drawings he calls ‘colour chromatics’, which he has been creating since 1960. In Hans-Peter Hass, the artist found a printer who was able to reproduce his ideas in the best possible way.“
MACK - Druckgraphhik und Multiples. 1991-2000
Mack's art has been influenced on numerous occasions by thinkers, poets and mystics. He translates quotations from texts into colour and structure in a congenial manner. This artist's book is inspired by the Spanish church teacher and mystic Juan de la Cruz.
In his creative poetry, the believer describes his ecstatic experience of God. The text section with screen-printed quotations and individual illustrations is accompanied by eight linocuts.
Black on white, closely interwoven rhythmic structures are formed, reminiscent of the light and Arabic-influenced ornamentation of the Iberian Peninsula.
The book artwork, limited to only 25 + V copies, was produced by bookbinder Walter Geuer. Each individual linocut is signed and numbered.
A special, bibliophile work by the ZERO artist.
