Danny Linwerk was born in Elsterwerda in 1977. Linwerk initially trained as a chef and worked as a graphic designer. From 2011 to 2016, he began studying fine arts at the Dresden University of Fine Arts under Prof Christian Macketanz and Prof Wilhelm Mundt and graduated with a diploma. From 2019 to 2022, he attended the master class of Prof Christian Macketanz, Dresden University of Fine Arts as a master student. His paintings and drawings are characterised by everyday life, personal encounters and ideas, and essentially by their colourfulness and mood. We almost always see people pursuing a momentary occupation in an over-stylised manner. Linwerk lives and works in Dresden. |

Features and remarks
Here you have the opportunity to purchase an original painting by the Dresden painter Danny Linwerk.
The painting is entitled ‘The Beautiful Life’ - but at first glance it gives a melancholy impression. Bent over, head bowed, the figure slurps a long spaghetti noodle in solitude at an outdoor table. A quiet tear trickles down his left eye.
But where hunger stirs, life goes on! And it's nice under a blue sky, travelling and sometimes all alone - with yourself.
„Yes, my pictures often have a dose of the blues in them. In principle, they are like a copy of life, in which you are constantly trying to refine the chaos, create order and harmonise light and shadow. The lightness only really becomes tangible when you also recognise the heaviness. Perhaps, for example, every bright pink in a bluesy blue composition is an offer of utopian consolation. My mission is perhaps less to be found in what I paint, but - in the abstract sense - in how I paint it, with the attempt to let a utopia resonate from the colourfulness.“
