artist

Daneben existieren Wandgemälde in verschiedenen Städten.

Features and remarks

You are bidding on a complete, six-part series of original graphics by the American pop artist Keith Haring.

The series "Bayer Suite" was created in 1982 in an edition of 70 copies, signed in the print. There are also 6 hand-signed prints. The work was commissioned by Bayer AG for its board members on the occasion of the market launch of the heart medication "Sali-Adalat". The medication is an active ingredient against high blood pressure. In this series, the artist therefore deals with various aspects of heart health.

The various motifs are in the artist's typical figurative style and are reminiscent of the artist's early subway drawings, for which he spent his days drawing with white chalk on the empty billboards of the New York subway system. The colour palette of the entire series is limited to black, red and white, creating a highly simplified and stylized series of works.

Here, Haring creates a multitude of genderless figures dancing, running and celebrating. We recognize the angel motif familiar from later series as well as an early version of his iconic "People Ladder". Graphic red lines emanate from the figures in each print, creating a pulsating effect that fills the series with a sense of joy, movement and dynamism. The "Bayer Suite" is bursting with energy and verve, a key feature of Haring's distinctive style that makes his work so appealing and unique.

"Whatever he presented tended to spread quickly, to multiply, to be universally applied. Like the pictograms and signets in the merchandise circus, like Mickey Mouse or the spinach-eating Popeye, Haring's 'trademarks' work. He calls them 'icons': the barking dog in a halo of rays, the crawling baby, the yellow angel, the red superman with dragon wings. Two graphic series are dedicated to these 'icons', one brightly coloured and one colorless ('White Icons'). In 1990, shortly before his death, Haring chose the techniques of screen printing and embossed printing, which gives them in the one case the rich shine of enamel signs, in the other the mysterious aura of devotional images before which one lowers one's eyes."

Werner Jehle, 1997

Keith Haring's characteristic visual language has made him world famous and is also a joy to look at when looking at this graphic series. His pictures are part of the visual memory of industrial nations and are now printed on T-shirts, mugs, etc. - but only very, very few have an ORIGINAL Haring work on their wall.

Bid now! Because the artist is so popular, his prices have only been going in one direction for years: upwards. According to Artpice, last year alone they increased by 120.5%.
