Katharina Eichler wurde 1971 in Dresden geboren. 2004 – 2010 studierte sie an der Ecôle des arts d'Ixelles in Brüssel bei Thérèse Lebrun Keramische Gestaltung. Seit 2011 stellt sie regelmäßig im europäischen Raum aus und entwickelt ihre eigene Formensprache weiter. Katharina Eichler lebt und arbeitet in Dresden. |

You are purchasing a large sculpture by Katharina Eichler, which was produced using the very special Nerikomi construction technique / bead technique and fired in an electric kiln at 1160 ́ degrees.
Nerikomi (練り込み, literally "kneading") is an artistic technique for making Japanese pottery from multicolored clay.
The artist says about her work herself:
"Inspired by the color and form of early ceramics and their symbolism, I build my pieces from different clays that create a dialogue of linear structures. Diese Balance zwischen Spontanität und kontrolliertem Prozess, sehe ich als Schwerpunkt meiner Arbeit, eine Interpretation archaischer Keramik in einem zeitgenössischen Kontext, moderne Totemgefäße. Die handgeschliffene Oberfläche sowie die organischen Formen meiner Objekte sind für mich die Grundlage einer lebendigen Haptik. In meiner aktuellen #bluepatchworkcollection setze ich mich mit dem Thema "cut & paste" auseinander, dem erneuten Zusammenfügen eines aufgeschnittenen Stückes, einem neuen Dialog der Linien."
