Features and Remarks
This hand-signed art print, limited to just 10 copies, has been mounted on aluminium Dibond behind acrylic glass – this lends the dynamic, AI-data-based image exceptional depth and colour brilliance.
In 2022, the Friends of the Pinakothek funded the acquisition of an AI data sculpture for the collection of the Munich Pinakothek. This was projected as an immersive display onto the façade of the building.
Three different video stills from this work were subsequently produced exclusively as collector’s editions for the patrons.
„Whilst Anadol’s installations are increasingly found in museums, there are virtually no works available for private purchase. [...] These are video stills from the projection created for Munich. It is based on extensive datasets provided by the four museums of art, graphic art, architecture and design at the Pinakothek der Moderne, as well as their partners. Refik Anadol and his team supplemented these sources with further publicly available data from digital archives accessible within the context of the Pinakothek der Moderne.“
